Ms. Vera M. Cecelski

Vera Cecelski is the Site Manager for Historic Stagville State Historic Site, part of the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources. She is an NAI certified interpretive guide and a graduate of the NMAAHC Workshop on Interpreting African American History and Culture. Since 2019, her public history work focuses on ethical interpretation of the history of slavery and engagement with descendants of enslaved people, in her hometown of Durham, NC.
